Eric and Caroline met at a Christmas party in December of 2010. It was a party for those who worked at the Birch Aquarium. Caroline’s sister and Eric’s friend worked together at the aquarium during college, and Caroline and Eric came as their plus ones. Since they did not know many people at the party, they bonded over a wrapping paper fight and the rest is history. One their sixth anniversary, Eric took Caroline to the top of Mount Soledad where they shared their first kiss. Eric took Caroline by the hand and exclaimed that he wants to spend the rest of his life with her. Seconds after Caroline said yes, a storm rolled in, with gusts of winding swirling around the couple. Sounds so epic!! They went with Orfila Vineyards and Winery because they wanted something casual and classic that has an outdoor ceremony. It was actually the first venue the couple looked at. We loved it also!

We loved working at Orfila Winery! Here is what someone else thought!
“I can’t believe I hadn’t been to Orfila Winery sooner! Now that I’ve been, I’m going to come as often as I can. It’s a stunning winery, and it feels like you’re in wine country without having to make the drive to Temecula. It’s just a few minutes from the North County Fair Escondido mall, on the route you’d take to the Wild Animal Park. I came here with a girlfriend on a Friday afternoon and we did wine tastings, and then ended up buying a bottle later (they’ll cork it for you if you don’t finish). The wines were all tasty, and the atmosphere is phenomenal. We only drank reds, and also had a dessert wine. You can stay inside with your tastings, or go out on the patio area, or even sit down on the lawn overlooking the vineyard. Many people brought picnic blankets, lawn chairs, their dogs, and just had a low-key, relaxing time drinking wine and soaking in the Californian sun. They sell lots of different cheeses, breads, crackers, etc., that you can pair with your wine. They had a food truck there while we were there, which was very popular. The tasting room is pretty large and has lots of cool gift items as well. They had something for everyone- I loved their mermaid and beach-themed merchandise! This is a beautiful venue for weddings! My only complaint is they seemed to close so early- 7pm on a Friday. We would have gladly stayed much longer, especially since you could easily have dinner there with all the food they sell, and the food truck on the premise.”
