While these two aren’t quite millenials, they met on the most stereotypical millenial way: via their cellphones on an app called Hinge. The beauty of Hinge is that you need a mutual Facebook friend in common, so they had some legitimacy before meeting in person. Meghan and Alan texted non-stop and after meeting for a first date for beers at Hamilton’s, they hit it off completely. They love everything about each other! They admire each other’s intelligence, senses of humor, attitudes of gratitude, humility, work ethic, and share similar goals for the future. They both have big hearts for each other and both strive to make their world and their relationship better each day. They confide in each other, comfort each other, and encourage each other. Alan knew he wanted to have Meghan as his “forever girl” so when a friend invited them to join her table at the San Diego Zoo Gala. They planned to dress to the nines: hair, nails, tux, etc. Right as they finished getting ready and were about to leave their house for the Gala, Alan told Meghan that she needed something sparkly to go with her gown, got down on one knee and proposed. OF COURSE, she said yes (with an expletive thrown in), and they spent the night dancing and drinking champagne at the Gala. So wonderful!

We loved working with BuckBorad Catering!! Here is what another bride thought!!
“Working with Fadi and Buckboard Catering for our wedding was great! The food was good for the price. We had three appetizers
– Caprese skewer
– Asian shrimp skewer
– Steak kabob
I loved all three of these at our tasting, I didn’t get to eat much on our wedding day. But Fadi did chase us around with a platter of appetizers and they were delicious. Note, these are simple appetizers and great for cocktail hour. They’re not messy like eating a pasty puff when the crumbs fall all over you or eating a chicken wing and you’re desperate for a napkin. I highly recommend these if you’re looking for something simple yet delicious.
For main course we did buffet — their signature buffet:
-Santa Maria Style Tri Tip
-Chicken with Creamy Caper Lemon Sauce
-Roasted Red Potato Quarters with Sour Cream & Chives
-Roasted Vegetable Medley
I liked this assortment, during the tasting I had a chance to sample and eat all of them, but on the wedding day I only ate some of the chicken and potatoes (I loved the way they were seasoned and they were great with the sour cream and chives). I guess I was too excited to eat! Though when we had a tasting I did like the food. Presentation at the wedding was good — we had it at the Martin Johnson House and they had the food inside the house.
Of course, a big chunk of the catering is food but service also plays a part. Their servers were very nice and friendly. They made sure everything was looking lovely before the wedding. Fadi, the manager who also served as our coordinator, was AMAZING. He really stepped up to serve as a day of coordinator by contacting our vendors a few days before and on the day of making sure everything ran smoothly. He checked up on me regularly a few days before the wedding asking if I needed any help with anything and not to hesitate to ask him for any help. We had a mishap with alcohol and he went to get more booze for our guests.
I was really impressed with Buckboard! I’d definitely recommend!”
