The magic of the La Jolla Shores Hotel is the ocean view. The Pacific looked simply amazing at David and Brian’s wedding. What a wonderful way to celebrate such a big day, being right on the sand and seeing a breathtaking sunset! David and Brian deserve simply the best and they got it. Not only did they have the best friends and family but the love they have for each other is something out of this world!

We loved working at La Jolla Shores Hotel!! Here is what someone else thought!!
“Now THIS is how you do family get togethers! We have NorCal grandchildren and SoCal grandchildren. It is our joy to get them together twice a year for “Cousins Camp.” Memory making and a ton of fun, but grammie cici cici be tired after the weekends. It starts with the shopping. These days kids have a lot of different food restrictions. I had NO idea how many types of milk there is out there.
So this time, we treated each family, along with ourselves to a weekend at the beach. La Jolla Shores Hotel is smack dab on the beach. A really great beach at that.
The pleasure began when I phoned the hotel the day before arrival. I lucked out with the sweetest lady, Courtney. She went the extra mile in assisting us with rooms that would work best for our family. Professional, yet super friendly.
Arrival day was pure delight. We travel extensively and find that the tone is set at check-in. The hotel manager should know how many people will be checking in and plan the staffing with that in mind. Happens only the half the time. Not here! There was no line. I was waiting behind two couples checking in, so what happens next? The manager opens her desk and invites me over for check-in. We had three rooms reserved and all three were presented to me, ready to go. My kids, who were travelling, never had to step foot in the lobby. I was able to text them and tell them to meet me in their rooms (which were awesome.) They each have two kids under the age of seven. For them to park and head straight up to their rooms? What a lovely beginning to what turned out to be our best Cousins Camp yet.
That was just the beginning. We dined in the restaurant a few times. The service was always stellar.
Our last day we dubbed “Beach Day.” Oh my heavens. The hotel provides chairs, towels, and umbrellas. Get this … they carry everything out for you and install the umbrellas. I am a weight lifter and for the life of me, I cannot get a beach umbrella to dig in far enough into the sand. Total fail every try. This service is bank. The kids had a blast making sand castles and us big kids sure enjoyed slacking in our chairs in the sand.
The hotel is a tad “retro” ~~~ which we hope they will never change. You get a real “feel” for another time when families retreated to the shore. The landscaping is lushly tropical. The fresh salt-sea air permeates your lungs and soul. That soothing sound of waves …
All of us agreed that our next (and next and next) Cousins Camp will be at La Jolla Shores Hotel.
A new tradition.
I just booked a little getaway for myself and my husband in December. (Don’t tell the kids…)”
