Amir’s aunt and cousin thought it would be a great idea to set him up with this wonderful lady… Shirin!! Well that worked out perfectly 🙂 Amir and Shirin hit it off instantly. After dating for sometime Amir wanted to make this lovely lady his bride! Amir planned an elaborate Mission Impossible spy-themed scavenger hunt on New Year’s Eve, which ended with him proposing in a suite filled with flowers at the Omni Hotel downtown, followed by drink and dancing to ring in the new year. Shirin of course said “yes.” They are so perfect together because they have the same sense of humor and can talk about anything. They also love to travel, work in the garden and cook together!

We loved working at the Omni La Costa Resort! Here is what another bride thought!!
“This was our second stay at Omni La Costa this summer and I cannot help but rave about the property, service, and amenities offered during our stay. We came into town for a wedding and thankfully we were able to enjoy the hotel all day before the wedding and then again the following morning before we checked out. I have children ages 2, 3, 13, and 17 who stayed with us and all agreed that they had a great time. Here are some individual highlights:
– The Resort: it’s a very large property but the best features, for us, are the pools! We used the family pool area that included a toddler water slide, a wading pool with sandy entrance, a 3-5 foot deep swimming pool, and 2 bigger water slides for the older kids on our first day. My 2 and 3 year olds were in heaven! We used the garden pool area the second day that had 2 pools, a jacuzzi, plenty of lounge chairs, water, and some shade on the second day. My younger kids could not get enough of the pools and cried when we told them we had to leave.
– The Food: for this trip, we ate at the family pool area for lunch and it was perfect. It’s casual food at fair prices (large turkey sandwich with chips is about $12, kids meal with Goldfish and whole fruit about $9) and the kids were happy to eat when the staff called for a 10 minute break from the pool (they do this periodically throughout the day, no cause for concern). We also had snacks and breakfast from the Marketplace and everything was very fresh and delicious, including the yogurt parfaits and breakfast burritos. Other family members of ours had dinner at Bistro 65 and raved about the quality of the food and the nice cold beer!
– The Service and Personal Touches: everyone at La Costa is friendly and helpful. Check in was simple – we arrived early and they called me as soon as our keys were ready. We had access to the pools the whole day. We were surprised to find bottles of water, a fruit basket, and some chocolates in our two rooms when we got back from the wedding. Johnson Menezes, Director of Guest Relations, is amazing! He really went the extra step to ensure that our stay was absolutely perfect. His follow-up and follow-through ensured that we came back after our first wonderful stay at La Costa in June of this summer, and we are so glad that we did.
– The Room: We stayed in the La Costa rooms and were very happy with the size and cleanliness. Both rooms were spacious, had a pull out couch, and the bathrooms were luxurious (I am a big fan of bubble baths, as are my kids). We even had connecting rooms which made it incredibly easy and fun for all of the kids. I would advise requesting that in advance. Our room overlooked the garden pool which was extremely enticing for the kids! I checked out on the TV in our rooms, no problem.
If you can’t tell already, I love this property. I would highly, highly recommend it to anyone with children. Couples, bachelorette parties, golfers, etc. can also find solace at the adult pool which overlooks the golf course. Don’t be put off by the family friendliness of the resort, there is plenty of room for all!
Room Tip: La Costa Rooms are a bit larger although they’re a bit farther from the kids pool.”
