Mary and Jake were 8000 miles apart when they were linked through mutual friends on Facebook in the Fall of 2014. One day, Mary posted a beautiful picture that Jake could not ignore. A “like” button turned into a text here and an email there. Before long, they were having video internet dates and starting to feel connected. With each passing day there were more questions, increased interest, and a desire to finally see each other in person. Surprised at how well they could get to know each other across such distance, they both felt a very strong connection after those two months.
In November, Jake finally made the long journey home. Waiting for him at the airport was the most beautiful woman he’d ever seen. Before saying a word, Jake dropped his bag on the floor and gave Mary a kiss that neither would forget. The two have been inseparable since that day. In their first six months together, they enjoyed Thanksgiving and Christmas with family and lots of vacation travel. By June Mary was getting back to her surgical residency program and Jake was transitioning from military life to work for the airlines. The following months got more busy, but their love and desire only got stronger. While on vacation in February 2016, Jake proposed in a secluded ski chalet atop Big Bear Mountain. The life-long story goes from there…
We got so lucky to be apart of their amazing love story. Their wedding was a magical event. The US Grant was the perfect venue for these two. Their ceremony was romantic, elegant and beautifully lit by all the candle light. The reception was full of fun, laughter and special memories. This day was perfect start to finish
