Back in 2015, Reza and Christine had a mutual acquaintance & soon-to-be matchmaker – Atoosa. Atoosa is Reza’s cousin and it just so happened she also was a close co-worker. One afternoon Atoosa and Christine were planning an event for their company and they started chatting about dating in California. After a short, casual conversation, Atoosa mentions she has a very handsome cousin (and a pilot). Right after their meeting she would send Reza an email asking him to reach out to Christine. A week later, he called on a Friday afternoon asking Christine to meet him at Paul Martins at the Irvine Spectrum at 8pm. From the moment he did his Forrest Gump wave, Christine knew it was going to be a fun night.
They talked for hours over wine, a slice of banana pie and a piece of chocolate cake. Their conversation went so late, the waiter had to let them know the restaurant was closing and they needed to leave. That is when it all started and now they get to live happily ever after! See matchmaking does work! Good job Atoosa.
Christine loves that Reza is always up for an adventure. He will always be willing to stop off somewhere to see a museum, go somewhere they haven’t been, and be open to trying new things. Reza loves that Christine cooks, takes care of their household (and their cat), and is also always willing to see/do new things. They love watching old movies on the sofa with popcorn & a blanket. Some of their favorites are Paper Moon, Modern Times, and Citizen Kane. In fact, after watching Citizen Kane, they drove to Hearst Castle which was their very first trip together in April 2016.

We always love working at Twin Oaks! Here is what another bride thought!
“The moment I walked onto the property at Twin Oaks, I knew it was magical and the perfect place for our wedding on 1/18/18. . We ended up having our ceremony offsite at a Catholic Church, but that never affected the planning of our wedding day with Twin Oaks. From the very beginning of my first tour with Michelle Gaytan and the event manager at the time, Leo Portillo, I was made to feel special and completely blown away by the service. Each time i called to make a payment or ask a question, the person answering the phone always made it easy to pay or get the answers i needed. My wedding coordinator changed a couple times for different reasons, but Elizabeth Guevara ended up being the one to see us through to our big day. She made it easy to stay on track with planning meetings by letting me know when it was time to set up a date. Not only that, but in the 2 months leading up to our wedding, I had a million questions and felt anxious about little things that I think I was emailing Elizabeth every day if not twice a day and she always responded within an appropriate timeframe and with so much patience. Donna Anderson was also helpful in keeping me updated with our remaining balances and breaking down our payments and costs. Tim White made the tasting so much fun and seamless. The ENTIRE planning team at Twin Oaks made the wedding planning process easy to follow and straightforward which is exactly what I wanted.
When it came to our wedding week, things went even smoother than I could have imagined. I tried to make inventory easy on the setup crew by placing all items in clear storage bins with a list of items in each bin which I think saved a lot of time checking each thing in. Alcohol drop off went great according to my cousin who dropped everything off for us. When it came time for our reception, I was blown away by how every single item I had brought was exactly in its place where I had asked Elizabeth and the team to put it. Not only that, but the venue had been transformed into our own personal heaven on earth with little touches of us everywhere – from the pictures, to the bar menus, to the framed music quotes – everything was where it needed to be. Our guests were in awe of how BEAUTIFUL the venue was. Everyone had a blast exploring the little hidden photo op areas of Twin Oaks. Each area made for a perfect photo moment and our guests loved all of it.
The food – to this day we are getting comments about how GOOD the food was at our wedding. We opted for the “stations” with the fried ravioli as a passed appetizer, the sausage kebobs and tomato bisque shooter at their own stations, Santa Maria tri tip, yukon whipped potatoes, veggies, and a chicken dish (I can’t remember the name at the moment). The serving staff couldn’t get the plated food out fast enough because as soon as they set a tray of plates down, the food was gone. However, I never heard a complaint from any of our guests that they didn’t get enough to eat – everyone had enough to eat and was able to go back for seconds or thirds of their favorite dishes. I wish my husband and I could have eaten more, but it’s true, when you’re the bride & groom you have to expect that you’ll be interrupted every 20 seconds during dinner. THANKFULLY, Elizabeth put EVERY single food item on our menu PLUS a slice of our cake and desserts from our dessert table in to go boxes for my husband and I to eat later!!! I nearly cried when I saw the bag of food from our wedding, it was such a nice touch and thoughtful thing to do. The leftovers were just as good the next day if not better. THANK YOU ELIZABETH
Honestly, I can’t think of a single thing that went wrong on our wedding day. And if something did go wrong, my husband and I weren’t aware of it at all and it must’ve been handled by Elizabeth and Leo and the entire team. I cannot thank the team at Twin Oaks enough for their help in making our wedding day perfect for us, Twin Oaks will ALWAYS hold a special place in our hearts. The venue was everything I envisioned it to be on our wedding day- romantic, beautiful, charming, and most of all – all about us and the people we love.”
