Steven and Danielle met while working at Horizon Youth Programs summer camp. they were both counselors in the same camp that week. After Steven invited Danielle to a church movie night the first week, they have been connected ever since. For the first three years of their relationship, Steven and Danielle dated long distance. At one point they were living in two different continents. But they stayed strong through it all. Danielle loves how kind and loving Steven is and how much he cares for the people he loves. Steven loves that Danielle is kind and how thoughtful Danielle is. She is also fun to be around. On May 7, 2017, these two got engaged. Steven had been planning the surprise proposal since March and Danielle had no idea. On the weekend that Danielle graduated from college, Steven proposed. Steven took Danielle to Peohe’s in Coronado, where he had a photographer hidden. When the waitress handed Danielle the menu it had the words, “Will you marry me, Danielle?” written across the top. She of course said “yes” and the rest is history!!

We loved working at Tom Ham’s Lighthouse! Here is what another bride thought!!!
“Best. Seafood. Best. Views!
Honestly, if I lived in SD & could afford it, I would get married here!!! The views are amazing, the food is amazing! In fact, there was a wedding when I was there!
Seriously, this was hands down the best meal we had this whole trip!!! So glad we are here as our last meal in SD.
For starters, as if I didn’t say it enough, the view!!! We made sure we got seats on the balcony which has glass windows so you have the perfect, unobstructed view of the ocean & city. We also made sure we were there during sunset which was also beautiful!
Ok ok, enough about the ambiance. The FOOD! There’s what we got:
Ceviche: This was the first time the boyfriend and I had this and we could not stop eating it! It was so refreshing with the baby shrimp, cilantro, tomato, avocado and fresh lime! The chips it came with were so super crisp and thin. Ugh! Highly recommend trying this!
Linguini & Shrimp: If you know me, I love all things noodles and knew I just had to have this dish! I was reassured I made the right decision when I learned the linguini is made in house! Omg this dish was soooo good! The cream sauce was light and didn’t leave me feeling gross and overly full. There was a VERY generous portion of jumbo shrimp too which is always a plus! I honestly am not a fan of tomatoes but these grape tomatoes were juicy & not overpowering. They complemented the dish well! They also added in chorizo which added some saltiness which added to the dish. Loved all the depths of flavors! Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed every last bit of this dish!
Catch of the Day: Seared Ahi! The boyfriend was super excited when he heard Seared Ahi was the catch of the day! It was a VERY generous portion of ahi and was cooked perfectly! Cooked on the outside but raw on the inside! It came with potatoes, asparagus, and some kind of tomato salsa. He also thoroughly enjoyed every last bite!
Seafood Platter: The other couple decided to get the seafood platter 1 (I think) which came with mussels, oysters, shrimp, and scallop! It looked so pretty and the seafood was definitely FRESH! They had no complaints and devoured the whole platter!
Bouillabaisse: Omg! Did our friends make this look GOOD! After tasting the broth it was so rich and flavorful from the different seafood being cooked in there and the saffron! It seemed like they was a surprise in each bite! Since the different types of fish and seafood were stewing in the broth, it was like a treasure hunt! Pro Tip: eat the complimentary bread with the broth!
Side Notes: they have a Sunday brunch buffet with unlimited mimosas! And their lunch menu looks amazing too! I would for sure want to come back for lunch!
Overall, I absolutely LOVED this place! The ambiance! The food! Everything!”
