Erin and Alexander met through Alexander’s friends from college and Erin’s neighbor at a neighborhood block party in Baltimore. These two hit it off right away and the rest is history!! Alexander loves that Erin is intelligent, elegant, and thoughtful. Erin loves that Alexander is caring, kind, intelligent, and funny. They both respect how hard working and family-oriented we each are. Alexander knew Erin was the one! He proposed to Erin at a beautiful oceanside restaurant on the Costa Verde in Lima, Peru. Costa Verde had been a special spot for reflection in Alexander’s life and he wanted to share it with Erin. She of course said “yes” and the planning began!! They picked the beautiful Rancho Bernardo Inn to host their big day because they had only heard great things about weddings at the RB Inn. Alexander likes the ranch style of it and both Alexander and Erin like the Spanish style of the venue. The quirkiest thing about the two is Erin calls Alexander “churro,” which means “handsome” in Peru in addition to referencing the dessert, ie someone sweet in this case. Alexander (and his family) call Erin “churri,” which is like sweetie. So here’s to you… Churro and Churri, thanks for letting us be apart of such a special day for you both.

We loved working at the beautiful RB Inn! Here is what another bride thought!!

“Wow, oh wow, did we love our stay here! It’s was our first time visiting the property and it is a great retreat in the middle of a residential neighborhood (follow the signs). We were in town for a wedding and decided to give this place a try. We booked the “All Play No Pay” package, which included the room and two massages (one for each of us). We arrive at the hotel at 10:30 AM and were very pleasantly surprised that they were able to get us into a room right away. We had enough time to drop off our bags before our 11 AM spa appointments. After our massages, we hung out at the spa pool all day and ordered drinks/food from the roving waiters. The food and drinks were both excellent (albeit pricey) but the service was extremely slow. There was only waiter for awhile that was gone for long periods of time but another one appeared at some point and service sped up. My only regret was not taking time to enjoy the rest of the spa facilities but we were having a great time at the spa pool! The spa bathrooms are also amazing. They have everything you could possibly need: shower gel, shower caps, lotion, blow dryers, Q tips, etc. I was so excited about the electronic lockers. It was so much easier than having to keep track of a locker key all day. You will need a separate key card to access to spa pool and spa facilities. They will give it to you when you check in for your spa appointment.

Everything on this property (food, spa services, etc) is definitely pricey so do your research ahead of time! Their excellent service really does standout above the crowd. Their front desk are exceptionally kind. I was a bit of a space cadet that day and left my cardigan on one of the couches in the lobby on the way to the wedding. I called from the Uber and they immediately when to retrieve it, left it for me at the front desk, and left me a voicemail to confirm where it was. I was so impressed at how quickly they took care of my mistake! I also wish I remembered the man who was working the front desk when we got back from the wedding at midnight. We were a bit tipsy and wanted snacks and he went out of his way to make sure my sister (who has a peanut allergy) found peanut-free snacks, even when he had to call for more snacks from the storage space.

Parking is self or valet. If your rate/package includes the resort fee then wifi, parking, and the water bottles in the room are included at no extra charge. We also got free gifts at the spa and free sparkling wine from the front desk with our package! Our room was close to the front desk but definitely far from the spa/spa pool and it was all uphill on the way back to our room. It was fine for us but would not work well for anyone who is mobility impaired. Make sure to ask for a room near where you would like to be if you have trouble getting around as the property is huge. Keep in mind that any rooms that are not on the ground floor are up or down stairs and there are no elevators.”
