Heather and Loren met while Heather was a bartender at Chili’s and Loren was an underage guest who became a regular at her bartop. Heather asked Loren out about 6 months later and on that date, Heather found out he had JUST turned 21. Haha!! After hanging out they found that they both enjoyed camping, hiking, bike riding, beer tasting and unplanned adventures. Loren was totally in love!! He started planning the big proposal. They left their home in San Jose at 2am to head to Long Beach to catch the ferry over to Catalina Island at 8am. Heather was supposed to purchase tickets for the ferry in advance, but she never did. Loren had no idea and when they arrived to the ticket counter in Long Beach, there were no tickets available and they had to be placed on standby for the next ride out; they were lucky enough to be able to catch the first ride out. (Loren had planned a boat rental for the both of us at 2pm without letting Heather know)These two made it to Catalina Island and rented the boat. Loren took Heather out in the middle of the ocean and proposed. She of course said “yes” and the planning started! They picked Coronado Beach and Stone Brewery because their engagement vacation took place in San Diego, and they wanted a beach wedding with perfect weather and a great chill vibe.

We loved working at Stone Brewery! Here is what another person thought!!
“As a woman who is not particularly interested in beer, I had my doubts about having my wedding reception at a brewery. However, my now husband convinced me to schedule a meeting and take a look at the venue. I have to say I was blown away. Stone is the heart of the beautiful Liberty station. It truly feels as if you have entered a small town. We met with Liz Diaz, who is the event sales director, and she was wonderful. She was honest, fair, easy going, and she even remembered my name and that I had gotten married on the beach when I ran into her to pick up my decorations the day after my wedding, and I hadn’t seen her since the day we had signed our contract 6 months prior to that. That is quite the impressive memory and quite thoughtful 🙂 From then on, we were introduced to one of the coordinators, Kaylee, who kept in touch with us throughout the rest of the process. She was easy to get in touch with and flexible. She did a great job with the set up and worked well with my wedding coordinator. We also received a free tasting which was enough food for several people. The food is INCREDIBLE. I am vegetarian and the options were great! The one consistent compliment from guest was how amazing the food was. That is usually unheard of at a wedding. We are most appreciative of the fact that this is a very affordable way to have a beautiful wedding reception with a moderate sized guest list. We appreciate that the prices were not unreasonable as they are at many places the moment you say the word “wedding.” A significant amount is included in the price, which is not the case from many if not most weddingvenues. We rented both the movie courtyard and the large banquet hall and that was more than enough space for our guests. The movie courtyard was beautifully lit, and we had a running slide show and our own music playing in the background all night. There were two reception captains (Chris and Sydney) who were very attentive. The bar tenders were very accommodating. The beer and wine are exceptional, and go a long way. There was plenty of hot food available all night. I have recommended this venue to many and will continue to do so! Thank you so much for the wonderful memories! Can’t wait to come back!”
