John and Jill met online. They met on bumble, where the woman has to message first. Jill remembers immediately thinking John was cute and didn’t hesitate to send the first message. John and Jill only met one person online… each other! They instantly hit it off. Jill thinks that John is very kind – he was voted “Most Likely to Give You a Hug in the Hallway” in his high school yearbook and Jill loves that about him (because it’s true). He has the most gentle soul of anyone Jill has ever met. While Jill has a nervous personality, John is always calm; he never loses his cool. Jill has never met anyone who doesn’t like John — he is smart, funny, social, and professionally driven. Best of all, he puts up with Jill. Haha!! John wanted Jill to be his forever lady so, he came up with a plan. John and Jill play on a recreational softball team together. John usually would go right from work and Jill would stop at home first. He waited until he knew Jill would have left to go to the game and went into their apartment to put flowers and champagne. When they got back from the softball game, Jill was telling a funny story in the elevator and John wasn’t laughing or responding. As soon as we got into the apartment, Jill saw the flowers and champagne and John nervously got down on one knee and proposed, and Jill responded “are you serious?” (in an annoyed way) and then didn’t answer (although she did eventually). Of course she said “yes”!!! John loves Jill because she is thoughtful, caring and sweet and how much Jill uncontrollably loves dogs.  Jill expects everyone (including John) to do the right thing, such as how people treat each other to how they drive (which can be disappointing with Boston drivers!).  Jill is passionate and enthusiastic complimenting my calm (sometime times unenthusiastic) temperament. They, in many ways, exemplify the “opposites attract” adage and are better together than apart. These two love to give each other experience gifts rather than material gifts — tickets to live music, cooking classes, trying new restaurants, white water rafting, wine/beer tasting. They like to do outdoor activities when possible.
