Joanna and Mathew met via an online dating application. They chatted for weeks before they actually met in person (Joanna was busy in a PhD program). Mathew liked that he and Joanna shared so much in common (like both their love of dogs and video games). Joanna was fond of Mathew’s great sense of humor. When they finally had a chance to meet in person, they met at a local frozen yogurt shop and talked for hours. Mathew know Joanna was amazing after their first date and soon found that he was falling in love with Joanna. Mathew loves her personality, intelligence, and sense of humor. While Joanna was falling in love with Mat because he’s caring, responsible, and hilarious. Mathew asked for Joanna’s hand in marriage by booking a cruise to Ensenada, Mexico under the guise of an anniversary celebration. When they got to their stateroom, they admired the view and all the amenities. It was then that Mathew asked Joanna to “come look at something over here.” That “something” was a beautiful ring. Mathew asked Joanna to marry him, and she enthusiastically replied, “YES!”

We loved working at the beautiful Lafayette Hotel!! Here is what another bride thought!
‘We completely enjoyed our stay. I personally loved the interior of the hotel, the lobby’s decoration was unique and fun. Service was great, staff was polite and friendly.
THE BED MATTRESS IS FANTASTIC. I slept so well and couldn’t get out of it for checkout. I make a big deal about hotel’s beds because, well, because it’s important to get some rest and this mattress is so perfect to me lol
special thanks to GUSTAVO the assistant manager for being so kind and making our anniversary extra special!!!!
We’re coming back, we love Sd and my fiancé booked this hotel again for next month lol
Just a couple of things- our door kept getting stuck and had to be pushed pretty aggressively to be opened. hopefully that was just our door. Also, the rooms are kind of small (everything we needed was there though minus microwave and fridge) so if you’re expecting roomier spaces, their bungalows might work better for you!
Gotta pay for parking!
But overall, great ambience of the place, 15 mins from Little Italy and the water, and Gaslamp… Lyft from hotel to those places was like $8 so that was awesome. Great staff, clean rooms, excellent bed, comfortable stay!”
