Loews Coronado Bay Resort | Coronado | Alex + Hao’s Wedding Photography

April 15, 2019

Alex and Hao met on a trip to Niagara Falls. They were both graduate students at the University of Rochester. These two enjoyed each others company while on vacation and continued to communicate after they got home. They both found that they enjoy doing the same things, such as traveling, watching movies and playing video games. Alex proposed at Lake Ontario where Hao and Alex first dated. Hao of course said “yes.” Hao can’t imagine her life without Alex by her side! These two have so many of the same interests and a deep connection.

We loved shooting at the beautiful Loews Coronado! Here is what another bride thought!

“Everyone at the Loews was extremely friendly and accommodating during my wedding weekend! We booked a block of rooms for our wedding guests, and it was a fantastic decision. From the moment we arrived, we had a blast!

We hosted a happy hour / meet-and-greet with our guests 2 days before our wedding. The hotel was nice enough to let us have some tables out on the lounge behind the lobby bar. There was a beautiful view of the bay, and the wait staff was wonderful. The day before our wedding, we hosted another mini gathering at the pool. We really enjoyed the cantina bar in the pool area, and there was plenty of seating for our guests.

On the morning of our wedding, the staff treated me to free breakfast in the restaurant. I had a lovely egg white omelet and potatoes. We later ordered room service for lunch while the bridesmaids were getting ready. The staff was right on time with the food, and they were very accommodating with the requests for each of the 6 women who needed to eat!

We then took several pictures in the scenic hotel, from the grand staircase to the gazebo. The hotel staff was nice enough to remove the bench and chairs that normally are located in the gazebo. The hotel also let us borrow an easel to set up our seating chart for the wedding reception at the Coronado Community Center! As if that wasn’t nice enough, they agreed to shuttle our guests to the wedding(as long as it didn’t conflict with the regularly-schedule shuttle rides to downtown Coronado that are provided to hotel guests … which is also a pretty cool idea).

As for our room, we loved it. We received a beautiful suite in Building 1, which is the building closest to the lobby area. Our room had a lovely seating area and overlooked the bay, the bridge, and the San Diego skyline. Shortly after we arrived, we received complimentary chips, salsa, guacamole and a bucket of beer. We later received a bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries! I felt like royalty. I look forward to returning to the hotel many more times in the future, whether it be for a meeting or for my anniversary. I am extremely impressed with everyone at the Loews Hotel.

*I should also note that there were many Loews Hotel employees who helped us make the decision to work with the Loews for our wedding weekend. Andrea Moore helped us book our room block, and she kept us apprised of how many rooms were booked by our guests at any given time. I wish I could remember everyone, but seriously, from the bell man to the manager, I was impressed with everyone that weekend. Thank you, Loews, for helping me really enjoy my wedding weekend!”
