Missy and Hunter met when Missy was on a weekend get-away to San Diego from Texas with her big sister. Missy and her sister met up with an old friend from college who happened to work with Hunter in the Marine Corps. After spending a brief 10 hours together and flying out the next day, Hunter was hooked and invited Missy to come back to San diego, but this time, as HIS guest. Thus sparked a long distance relationship which blossomed into Missy leaving Texas for hunter a short 8 months later. After successfully convincing Missy to come back to San Diego to spend time with a man she spent a mere 10 hours with, Hunter took her on their first date, a sunset picnic at tourmaline beach. The day of the proposal Hunter had set a full day itinerary for Missy including go-carts, massages, and a day at the spa. When they were done he took her back to the scene of the crime at their first date at tourmaline beach where unknown to Missy both Hunter and Missy’s parents, his sister, her sister, and even Missy’s best friend from college flew out to witness and be a part of Hunters planned beach proposal. As if the proposal itself didn’t leave her speechless, seeing their family and closest friends sealed the deal! As a couple, they fully support each others car addictions. Hunter has a Datsun 240Z that Missy has helped restored and Missy has a Jeep wrangler JKU that Hunter helps modify. New and old, they help each other and call it date night rather than go out for a night out on the town!

We love working at the beautiful Prado at Balboa Park, here is what someone else thought!
“To dine at The Prado is to feel like you are stumbling into old courtyard in the city of Madrid, just off the beaten path, but still very much in the thick of a lot of action. There’s plenty of people watching to be had here thanks to all the tourists in Balboa Park, and you’re almost certain to witness a wedding on their lower patio if coming in on a weekend. However, that’s all part of the thrill of coming. Sometimes, you want a little extra excitement and socialization to your dinner—we all know what a buzzkill it can be to have those awkward silent restaurant dates. So, if you are meeting a girlfriend’s parents for the first time, entertaining a client, or just want to spice things up from your usual suburban go-to, come here!
We have not only enjoyed dozens of wonderful meals (breakfast, lunch, dinners) here, but my wife and I were married here, and our wedding dinner was catered through The Prado. The food is top notch–even their homemade varieties of flatbread crisps and hummus as a complimentary starter for each table are stellar–, but the ambiance and surroundings are the reasons we continually come back. Other menu items not to overlook: “Thyme Roasted Chicken” and the “Rib Eye.”
